I have been overweight since I was about 10 years old and it had taken a toll in many aspects of my life, I gave up sports, I lost friends and my weight was spiralling out of control. I had tried dieting and exercise that did help me lose weight but something would happen and the weight plus interest was put back on. I knew that it would take more than just simple diet and exercise to become the healthy me I knew was under the surface.
Come surgery day I was comforted that he was able to visit with me before heading into theatre and to calm any nerves that had come to pass as I was waiting to go in. His surgical team were all highly professional as well. he also came to check on his patients in the hospital to see how they were going, forever being positive and encouraging.
Of his non-surgical professional team I have only seen his Dietician but I can say that she is an absolute gem to have on board the journey that I have started to go through, all the information is easy to understand and she offers non-standard consults, (skype/facetime, phone appointments) which can really help those that have a busy schedule and can’t make ‘standard’ appointments.
